Summary: Good upgrade from on-board analogue sound. It's pretty cheap, so it fit the budget for a budget build. The computer it is installed on will only be used for general internet use, so it's not like top notch sound was required.
card works well with win7, creative software for this card, not so much.

Summary: got this for 5.1 sound, my pc only had stereo on the motherboard. works fine, not too thrilled with the creative software that you can download for the card. i'm running win7 and some of the executables crash or simply will not run. otherwise it works fine for what i want.
Summary: This sound card works and helped me to finally get sound out of my Black Ops Call of Duty game. I updated the drivers and restarted my PC; then all was well and my game played with sound. Good enough for what I need it for and no issues to date.
Summary: As most people do these days, I'd been getting my audio off the motherboard for a while. That failed, and I bought this card as a replacement. The good: Sound quality is noticeably and genuinely better, especially for games using atmospheric effects (tunnels etc). The bad: 1) No AC97 or High Definition Audio headers on the card. My case's front-panel headphone and microphone jacks aren't useful.
Summary: I think the EAX and the gaming features are ideal with this soundcard. I really didn't notice a huge leap between this an the ALC889 chipset. This is best suited for gamers who want a cheap option.
