Summary: been using this for years to power my HD570 which is like 10 years old, there is some driver conflict when using with win7, i just use an aftermarket driver. overall great sound for this price
Summary: Good upgrade from on-board analogue sound. It's pretty cheap, so it fit the budget for a budget build. The computer it is installed on will only be used for general internet use, so it's not like top notch sound was required.
card works well with win7, creative software for this card, not so much.

Summary: got this for 5.1 sound, my pc only had stereo on the motherboard. works fine, not too thrilled with the creative software that you can download for the card. i'm running win7 and some of the executables crash or simply will not run. otherwise it works fine for what i want.
Summary: I think the EAX and the gaming features are ideal with this soundcard. I really didn't notice a huge leap between this an the ALC889 chipset. This is best suited for gamers who want a cheap option.
