Summary: For those of you who are using win-xp, this is a good inexpensive card. I don`t recommend this card if your using Win-7. I was unable to get it working properly with that OS. I think it states that it will work with Win7 but, I didn't have much luck. I have a dual boot system,xp 32 bit and Win 7-64bit. Worked good on xp, but not Win 7. With that being said, One can make an informed choice.
Summary: This was a great sound card for the price. The quality was reasonable. However, I had to return it because it didn't have connectors front-panel audio ports. I use headphones and mics all the time, so it is necessary for me that the jacks on the front of my box work. I have heard there are extra cables you can buy, but many of those cost more than the sound card! If you don't need this feature, this is a great card.
Pros: Great linux compatibility (Ubuntu 10.04), Easy to install
Cons: No connector included for front-panel audio ports
Summary: By jeighsohn This is a no-frills, entry-level sound card and that is perfect for me. I do not want surround sound from my PC. I was perfectly happy with the my on-board audio from my MSI mobo until I discovered that the line-in input was dead in the water. I do some basic recording direct to PC on occasion (rip a cassette/vinyl, record some synthesizer, etc.) so I picked up a cheap sound card to get me back in business. Typical PCI - very easy installation.
Summary: I've had this card for a while. It's good and cheap now. I run it on default winXP drivers since the one from creative are crappy. It runs perfect and onboard acceleration works great. I havent made the leap to Vista yet, but i heard the drivers were plain bad.
Summary: It's an ok card. Getting driver for this thing when you are on windows vista is a nightmare and I suspect these driver are in a conflict with windows vista Sp1 No difference at all from the mobo integrated sound, but for 30$ it worth it, only to remove one painful job for your mobo.
Pros: Cheap and it works
Cons: installing the driver, not much difference vs the mobo integrated sound
