Excerpt: I have had this product for approximately 6 months. I got if from Ebuyer which meant it was good value (£69.99 with google checkout discount) and the delivery was reasonable from Ebuyer. They tend to be fairly slow in my experience. For example, when super saver is selected the product will arrive 3,4 or 5 working days after it was bought. Installation is so simple. It is almost plug and play, however, you still need to use the drivers CD provided.
Excerpt: I brought this soundcard before l got my surround sound system as it was one l had seen recommended online for the Logitech z5500 which is the system l intended to buy. I paid about £35 for the card on ebay (new) which was excellent value. TECH STUFF: the card is a simple plug and play device so even a computer virgin like me can sort it out you just whack it in and XP does the rest sorry can't comment on other OPS but l know most people have XP nowadays.
Pros: plug and play excellent sound improvement !
Cons: had a few initial problems with software (NOT DRIVERS)
Excerpt: Depending on whom you talk to, 7.1-channel audio (up to 7 speakers and 1 sub-woofer) is either the Holy Grail of immersive sound or the answer to a question nobody asked. As is often the case with new technology, the truth is somewhere in between. But one thing is clear: For movie buffs and hard-core gamers sold on this technology, Creative Labs pushes the envelope with its stunning new 7.1-channel sound card.
Pros: A well supported card with all of the latest sound technologies .
Cons: There are one or two other sound cards about that produce better audio, but they aren't as well supported by games developers .
Excerpt: The Creative Soundcard and External Hub is Excellent, I swear the sound difference is highly noticeable. I have a set of logitech Z-560 connected to the soundcard (yes i know its only a 4.1 but it will do for the time being. I am looking to buy a set of 7.1 Giga Works Speakers) Before i found the sound some what muffled by the base and the surround effect somewhat rubbish.
