Reviews and Problems with Auzentech Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1

Better than Stock X-Fi
5 April 2011
Summary: Why: I needed a low profile card to avoid a clearance problem with another component in my PC. Also, I needed an upgrade to support a higher end headset that couldn't be powered through the on-board or previous X-Fi Ti I had. The Good: Compared to my previous X-Fi Titanium, this card sounds a little better (analog is louder/clearer) thanks to the upgraded components (opamp, caps). Both Optical and Coax digital out are available in the same port with an adapter.
Summary: This is the ONLY PCI Express low profile card on the market that fits slim line desktops such as the ones from HP. Great sound quality, intuitive and comprehensive software for a non-professional card. This is a stand by card as I use another USB multi track recording interface for serious recording, but the sound quality was surprisingly good.
