Works Great.....If you take your time and set it up right

Summary: It defaults to coax so if you are not getting any sound and have it set up HDMI then you need to push the tab to the left of the control panel to get HDMI. I did not see the tab for awhile. Also be careful what you choose in windows and on the xonar control panel for output.
Pros: Does what is advertised. Got rid of the pops and clicks I was getting with my Audigy 2. Awesome sound in movies and with music. It's a 4 star because the directions will not get anyone from install to setup without knowing how to search the internet.
Cons: The instructions leave a lot of stuff out that would help the non tech friendly people. Even I had to go read the internet for awhile to find someone with similar concerns and problems. Now that I got it set up right and understand how it expects sound to be delivered to it for pass through to re...
Summary: To get this card to work: plug card into PCI slot; download latest drivers from ASUS website (particularly for WIN7 32/64); set sound setting in windows the same as in HDAV control panel, eg 24 bit 19200; card output defaults to S/PDIF! Change to HDMI tab if using HDMI... like most of us!
Pros: 1) PCI interface - who doesn't have one of these open and doing nothing 2) HDMI cables included (3 ft. HDMI & PCI to HDMI adapter) 3) Support 24 f/s 4) HDMI 1.3a (Newer LCD (particularly LED, like Samsung 8000) work best w/ HDMI 1.3 in detecting HTPC video output
Cons: 1) You have to link your video card (8600 or above) to HDMI input externally. Not a "clean" solution, but it is necessary 2) HDAV control panel documentation leaves much to be desired
Summary: This card needs to be backed up by a quality receiver, with THD, DTS-MA decoding and respectable 5.1-7.1 speakers. Otherwise you're not getting your money's worth. I don't know what all the low eggs are for, this is an awesome card. I love it. It brings me audible joy.
Pros: Stellar Dolby True HD, DTS-MA sound for blu-ray movies, when paired with high quality receiver. Amazing music quality, 24/96 playback, with proper source. Outputs via HDMI, so one cable for all audio and video.
Cons: Was rough when I first got the card, but that's when it first came out. Firmware can not be updated on this card, I had to send mine back to Asus so they could do it. DVI-HDMI connector cable low quality, tossed it for a better one. Only get 2.0 for EAX audio (games)
Summary: Like most computer components, the makers expect you to come into the deal with some kind of knowledge. Audio is a completely different beast from most other computer related subjects, and the learning curve is steep.
Pros: Sounds great with my Yamaha 5.1 surround sound system.
Cons: Getting the drivers for Windows 7 was kind of a pain, and not being a huge audio techie, configuring it to work with my surround sound receiver was a huge pain.
Summary: This card should never be needed. My video card is HDMI out which should bitstream all the audio codecs. BUT NO!!! The video card manufacturers have not bothered to implement the audio part of their cards so that it will pass the HDCP and PAP test.
Pros: The card works as advertised. If you want High Def audio from your blu ray capable HTPC, you simply have to get this card (or it's older brother, the deluxe model). This card is HDMI out ONLY and will bitstream all the legacy audio codecs and the new High Def codecs. Your receiver must be capable...
Cons: Documentation is terrible! Go to AVS or other knowledgable forums for tricks and tips. I reduced it one egg because of documentation.
Summary: I should have waited till newegg got this in stock and not have been impatient.
Pros: haven't got it yet, I will review when I get it. Pro is that I ordered from newegg and will now get it. I ordered from cesell.com three days ago because newegg didn't have it yet. That was a mistake, don't order from cesell.com they don't reply to your emails nor do they ship that day or the next...
Cons: None now that I have ordered from newegg, this truly is the best place to order from!
Summary: very good card for the audiophile, if you are a sound purest you want this card. if you are looking to use the thing for just gaming with head phones, don't get this card
Pros: Great sound, from what I have seen here on new egg there is no card that offers true 192htz. If your looking for good sound this is the way to go. Movies have never sounded better! Music sounds awesome on this thing!
Cons: software is a little clunky, meaning if your not the type who likes to tinker with sound or know your way around audio, this card might not be for you.
Summary: Only reason for not giving a five star is I have not tried it
Pros: Research suggests that this will do what I want to do. I have an A/V receiver without HDMI and with the daughter card I can use my analog inputs to play BlueRay movies on my TV in True Audio. Spoke to Asus support which is excellent
Cons: The picture from NewEGG does not show the daughter card.
