Summary: I'm a musician and I purchased this sound card for home recording -- which, by the way, is one of the uses listed on its packaging. However, after installing it, I immediately discovered there's at least a full one-second delay between each note I played or sung and what I heard in my headphones. I called Asus for help in removing the delay and was told there was nothing that could be done about it.
Summary: Straight to the point. Has a ton of bugs when used for gaming. Works great for movies and music. Excellent audio quality. Drivers haven't been updated since early 2011 and for the looks of it they won't be again. Static noise when graphics card is at >0% load. (Every game) Concluision: Great for movies and music. Awful for games. Sadly I bought it for gaming.
Summary: I purchased this sound card with the hopes of updating my PC to surround sound. When I opened the box, I was happy to see such a well made board. But then I installed it. I disabled the onboard sound and installed the newest Asus drivers that claimed worked with Win7 64 bit. What I got out of that after several reboots was sratchy, tinny sounds. I even unistalled it and tried older drivers off thier website.
Summary: The hardware seems nice, and I didn't have any of the problems others have had with this card installing it (bracket fit fine, power plug was not fragile), but the drivers are terrible. They can't be installed with UAC enabled (a fact that's not documented anywhere), and once I had it up and running, it broke SLI on my system.
Americans want english speaking tech support!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: I don't know about you all, but I am sick and tired of calling tech support and getting some person that can't speak english on the line that you have to spell every word you say at least 3 times or more!! If you have a Dell computer, don't by this item. Apparently Dell has gone off the deep end and decided to use some foreign type power connector (the ones that come on your power supply and go to the hard drive, CD drive, etc.
Summary: CD software that comes with product stalls windows 7. Must be removed in safe mode and download newest drivers. Tons of problems with games. Random crashes on youtube videos. Drivers provided by asus but written by low quality shady company. Sound quality mediocre, built in audio works the same. Load CLICKING when short audio segments. Really really terrible sound card. System works fine when I took it out.
Summary: I was upgrading from X-Fi Xtreme Audio to something with better performance, and I gave this card a try, but this Xonar DX sound card sound really awful, even on board audio is MUCH better than this crappy sound card, I finally settle down with X-Fi Titanium, much much clearer treble and bass and it is THX certified. Asus lets me down again...
