The hardware seems nice, and I didn't have any of the problems others have had with this card installing it (bracket fit fine, power plug was not fragile), but the drivers are terrible. It took me several hours to install this but I am not holding it against the card or Asus. I have an EVGA 780i MoBo runing with an iVidia 8800GTX graphics card on 1100 watts PSU on Win7 (32) and at first my board would not even recognize the card. Software update for Win 7 would not install, etc. After trying several times I was almost going to send it back thinking that it was just a bad card and exchange it. Read more
My Home Theater setup is: Onkyo 705 receiver, Sony BDP-370S blu-ray, Oppo universal CD player, HSU subwoofer, JMlab (now Focal) Chorus 715 front/center, with Wharfdale surrounds. Computer is a standard HP Asus operated with massive hard drives. Television is a 58" Hitachi rear projection 1080i with HDMI in. With a reasonably recent alsa, it is completely painless with linux -- microphone, aux input, even 7.1 sound works right out of the box. Low profile so it uses a PCI express slot between my SLI nvidia cards. Great performance for the price. Read more
