Summary: Thus is a good sound card I use it for gaming and chats and it is a great sounding item with my turtle beach headphones. it's surround sound is awesome (7.1 ability). For the price you can't beat it. Love the mixer and the extras that come with mic set up. Yet to find a dislike.
Summary: Very good card. I would say that it is a noticeable upgrade from my old Sound Blaster Audigy 2. I did have some trouble with the installation, though. Uninstalling the Sound Blaster drivers was not enough - the Asus installer still kept insisting that it could not find the card. Eventually I resolved this by disabling the "AMD High Definition Audio Device" in my Device Manager.
Summary: Has decent connectivity for the price point, and full 192khz for output. Great high end card for non-recording oriented users. With a micro ATX mobo, I had already used my single PCIx1 slot for a wireless card, so finding a high quality PCI standard sound card was a huge plus. Those looking to do more recording should look into the DSX, which supports 192kHz input.
Summary: I use an Asus motherboard and Win 7 64. Removed original Realtek driver via uninstall program, shut down and installed card, installed latest Asus driver from web site and voila worked perfectly. The sound quality upgrade was amazing to say the least. The low frequency response was much cleaner, especially after setting the LF crossover to a proper setting. Very useful SW interface. Looking forward to coupling up with Razor Tiamat 7.1 headset.
Summary: I owned 3 devices from Asus and this sound card is very good at delivering high fidelity sounds, sometimes I get the feeling someone is my room when I am watching a movie or a you tube video; that is how good this sound card is, and the software offers many adjustments and choices to tune the sounds to your liking. Very happy with my Asus devices, I would definitely recommend this sound card.
Summary: Got this as an upgrade for its "Smart Volume" feature which automatically adjusts all audio inputs to the level set by the volume control. Result, all inputs regardless of the source sound level, are heard in the range set by the Smart Volume Control.
Summary: I have to say I am very impressed with this sound card. I got it to replace a Turtle Beach card that I had for a few years that was the best available when I got it and still sounds great. Still, this Asus card blew it away. I am hearing things now that my old sound card did not reveal. This was definitely a worthwhile upgrade.
Summary: I was creating animations and other videos with the on-board sound (Asus P8P67Pro motherboard, i7-2600 cpu) and, although it was working, the mic quality wasn't great and there was a big lag when using my digital piano to input a melody (Magix Music Maker audio software). This sound card had decent specs and reviews so I gave it a try. Now the mic is much clearer without needing to crank up the volume to be usable, and keyboard input is near zero latency.
