Summary: My motherboard's audio fried after a hard drive upgrade I made. This thing is well-priced and gives me so many options for the price point. The control software is both easy and is pretty close to kitchen sink with features. If you don't want to go through the hassle of getting a fix replace on existing hardware like me, or are an occasional audiophile who is looking for an upgrade, it's great. Also parses PC game audio very well. I noticed that almost immediately.

Summary: I bought this card to replace my ASUS Xonar DGX PCI card because I upgraded to SLI in my computer and I lost the regular PCI slot due to the size of the second video card. I needed the PCI-E card (which this fits into a X1 or X4 variable PCI-E slot). Before buying this, I used the onboard Realtek audio, which isn't great for headphone gaming.
Summary: This is a perfect balance between the high end sound cards that are way more than I need for my non-gaming application and the really cheap cards that are a pain to get working. I use it in my HTPC, it's much better than the on-board audio, the drivers are great, loaded quickly and easily under window 7, and I am able to use both SPDIF for movies and analog out for stereo music without having to make changes to windows. Just what I wanted...
