Summary: This is an excellent sound card. The adaptor works great when using headphones and you have the ability to set up your speakers and environment as you desire. I use the optical out along with an amp as I am using some high end headphones and I find the card to work very well. Also, with the latest drivers, you can select, under games, several pre-sets which is nice. I do find the sound, even when listening to music to be very good.
Summary: I was using onboard sound and upgraded to this card. My games and music sound spectacular. Huge improvement. I got this particular card so I could wire my optical cable headphones and 5.1 speakers into the card at the same time (just need to switch between them using the app it came with or windows). The driver support isn't great, which is why I gave the card 4 stars, but I haven't had many problems.
Summary: I have had this sound card for a couple months now, and have found that the quality of sound is very good for the price.
Labelled as a 'Gaming' soundcard, this unit also boasts 118db Clarity SNR, EMI shielding, 3 headphone gain settings (up to 600ohm), Dolby Home Theater V4,, and an analog sample rate of up to 192KHz @ 24bit. The card can also be hooked up to 7.1 PC audio via 5x3.5mm, and has S/PDIF or Toslink output.
Pros: Excellent sound quality, and many sound setting options
Cons: Driver updates are few and far between, headphone gain settings are reset on reboot
Summary: First of all, use the beta drivers and not the ones on the CD. I had to knock 1 star off because of the current driver status. The beta drivers seem to correct many of the previous issues with certain games and settings. The card has a lot of custom settings and it has great sound(depending on your speakers of coarse). The card looks good, easy to setup, and does fine in W7 64bit. I am still playing around with the settings to customize my sound based on what I am doing.
Summary: First sound card that i have purchased and i can say that i am glad i got this when it works. i have tested this with BF3, MW2, Black light Retribution, minecraft, skyrim, world of tanks, Aion, Halo as well as several movies. It is a great card only when it works. Anything with punkbuster will crash periodically.Black light retribution has a bug that will cause it to crash but the crash rate increases with this card.
Pros: sound quality, looks, desktop control box included
Cons: drivers are really just beta tests still, cause crashes os more frequent crashes
Summary: Upgraded from an old creative x-fi fatality (2007). Great increase in sound quality. Hearing sounds I never knew existed. Bass/Highs/Lows all seem spot on. As I don't play Battlefield 3 on PC, I cannot comment on the driver issues people have been having. Every other game I've played works flawlessly and I've had literally no problems at all. People who said they can't use the software supplied because it's too complicated are computer illiterate.
Pros: Sound Quality, Quality of workmanship, Software
Summary: I've decided to update my review since I finally now have headphones that work with this card. However, I will start with a bit of warning to users of Bose QuietComfort 3 headphones. My pair will only work with this card if they are plugged into the speaker port. Plugging them into the headphone port cause static noise.
Pros: Звук, дизайн.
Cons: Если у вас слот PCI-E находится рядом с видео картой, то возможны импульсные помехи по микрофону во время игры.
