Pros: Always buy ASUS products but not having any luck this time with the sound card!
Cons: Can't get the ASUS sound card to recognize the speaker ports, using a ASUS Z87 motherboard. I've tried and called ASUS tech support multiple times and recently went to my tech guy, but to no avail!
Summary: The drivers for this sound card do not work correctly! I have spent several hours and several attempts with Asus support trying to get this OVER PRICED piece of junk working. You would think that a 200 dollar sound card would be fantastic, well the only thing fantastic about this sound card is it is...
Summary: Note to Vista users: No new drivers in 8+ months. None in the forseeable future. Support is nonexistent (on the Vista OS front) on the ASUSTek forums (go there if you want to read on the plethora of issues due to drivers with this card.
Pros: Analog 5.1 Decent sound if you can get around the godawful drivers
Cons: Horrific drivers. Terrible Manufacturer support. Random popping noises (due to faulty drivers) that cause audio channels to shift around while using 5.1 analog. Line noise leaking in from the 1x PCIE bus (more a mobo issue though for $200 I'd have expected better line noise isolators)
Pros: -Construction looks great / solid -Lit headphone & microphone jacks are nice since the backs of most computers are in the shadows -Sounded great on my 5.1 Surround -Excellent packaging
Cons: -Faulty Drivers -Had to RMA was obviously unusable within first hour of use. The installation of this card was a breeze and the drivers installed without a hitch. I powered everything back on, tested it with some music first, sounded great, then I loaded up teamspeak and all my buddies sounded gr...
Summary: I would like to know if JJ/ ASUS will acknowledge and deal with (contact Nvidia if you need to) this issue as it is severely damaging ASUS's sound card reputation among gamers around the globe. This is easily verified by google searching the issue I am describing.
Pros: Great audio when NOT looking to use microphone WHILE playing games like Battlefield 3
Cons: If your mission is to do youtube type recordings/commentating, pass this by. There is currently a very obvious interference problem between this ASUS sound card and nVidia GTX series video cards. Some say its a shielding problem in this specific vid card. Some say its a driver problem. I don't ca...
Almost a year later and the only drivers that work are still in beta

Summary: Title says it all; Driver features are completely bare bones, and still very buggy. There has been zero communication from ASUS on driver development, despite many users having trouble with the microphone input, 5.1 output and SDIF. I would definitely NOT recommend this card to anyone.
Summary: ASUS completely dropped the ball on this one. Both the full-release and beta drivers available for this card have the same huge problems: *Card can't output sound to headphones and speakers simultaneously, and switching back and forth in the software is a huge pain.
Cons: I believe there is a design flaw on this card, if you have a powerful graphics card there will be interference coming through when in games (especially loading screens). My friends cant stand it. I believe the EMI shield that's on it simply doesn't do the trick, there's not enough to it. For such...
Pros: I have not received the card just yet but it's on its way. I was poking around to be pro-active, reading reviews and looking for fixes to issues people may have experienced. So I downloaded the latest drivers and the manual as well so that I can verse myself on the product. On page 31 of the down...
Cons: None yet, but I will be sure to let you know how this all unfolds.
