Summary: So far so good! My old digital slow cooker stopped heating to anything but high (molten lava). This one is simple, just manual controls and I like that. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and the different settings work well.
Summary: We got this crock pot to replace our Wolfgang Puck one we had had for about 3 years that even after 14 hours of slow cooking the roasts were still not fall apart tender (no matter how we did it). This one far exceeded our expectations and cooks wonderfully!
Summary: I intentionally chose this slow cooker aka crock pot because it has a manual knob and not digital controls. They are more likely to fail over time. I originally bought it 11 months ago to make pear butter.
Pros: If you like to make roasts, large pots of beans, or homemade soup and keep it hot a long time this is the right size. (If you usually make small portions it would be too big.) Having the warm setting is very important if you like to keep your soups, beans or roasts ready to eat. Single people can...
Cons: Heats very slowly (which is probably normal) so don't expect to eat for quite a while. The point is to put the food on early and let it cook unattended.
Summary: This 7 quart is a perfect size for my husband and I and when the grandchildren visit. It will nicely feed 4 with a few leftovers for a lunch the next day. I love the heat settings. High is too high for a long period, so the low setting works well for those times I'm gone for awhile.
Summary: Had to return 2 of them and ended up buying a crock-pot locally. Flimsy outer shell, uneven ceramics inside, poor lid fit, knob was spongy..... One was damaged, and the second was just "sloppy" in its fit and finish.
Summary: I have recently just had the chance to use this. It seems to have cooked fine, but I noticed an off smell that wasn't part of the meal that was marinading. I will try again soon, but still not entirely confident.
lid lets steam out - spits cooking liquid all over the countertop & floors

Summary: I like hamilton beach products. unforunately, this lid does not fit the ceramic liner very well. when left to cook for over 4 hours (i.e. on low or high settings) the seal is insufficient to keep the steam/vapor inside the unit.
