Cracked in less than a year and not covered by warranty
8 July 2014
Summary: I purchased this product in August 2013. The unit is fine, but I've used it for 10 months and the ceramic insert for the crock pot is cracked. I called the company to get a replacement but the representative told me that glass is not covered by warranty. I would have to pay 17.99 plus shipping and tax to replace the unit. This same model is on sale now on Amazon for 29.99..
Summary: I realize this crockpot doesn't have all the bells and whistle of some of the more technologically advanced versions. But it is functional (lid holder is extremely handy) and consistent. Something I can't say about the self-timed versions. Amazing price!
Summary: I bought this to replace my old crockpot (which I used all the time...until I dropped it!). I love the handles on this thing - it makes transporting so easy! Everything else works just like you would expect a crock pot to. High, low, warm, off. Nothing fancy :) The very first time I used it, my husband took the lid off (unnecessarily) and put it on the stove top, not noticing how close he was to the lit burner...
Summary: I ordered this Hamilton Beach 7 Quart Slow Cooker because I wanted one that was BIGGER than my older West Bend 6 Quart; which is great, but not always quite big enough. When this arrived, I very carefully measured water TWICE to fill the crock. I wanted to be sure it would hold a full 7qts. IT DOES NOT!!! To the very top of the inner rim, it holds 6 quarts plus barely 1 cup. My good old 6 quart West Bend slow cooker does hold exactly 6 quarts.
Summary: Product came quickly. Large crock pot. Has a bunji type strap to hold down the lid... which is cool. I was not expecting any sort of hold down. This item is nice, the lid can sit back on the little bracket.
