Summary: I found that the crock is very loose in the cooker. I don't know if it should be. It gets extremely hot outside, but did not find it like that on the inside. probably would not recommendit. will try it again and see if the results are bettery. Oh, when turned on the first time, it smells like something is burning. the smell did go away.
Summary: I bought this gift for my Mother and she is very pleased with it due to the capacity, not too big not too small. She's also liked that it wasn't some hi-tech computerized gizmo that she could never understand. It was perfect and she's already used it several times.

Summary: I got this Hamilton Beach slow cooker for my wife a couple of years ago for Christmas. As far as slow cookers go, this one does everything a slow cooker should do. The 4-quart size is just right for our family of three. If you have a large family this will probably not do the job for you. It fits a whole chicken nicely with room enough for carrots and potatoes. This slow cooker has a glass lid rather than a cheap plastic one.
Summary: On the first use, the plastic part of the base melted to the ceramic part of the cooker. It created a stinky cloud that took about 3 days to air out of my apartment. In retrospect, I'm lucky it didn't start a fire in my kitchen.
Summary: Nice looking. In hindsight, I'd choose to go with a larger model because you have to downsize most recipes to use it or you have more than will fit in the pot. I find that it takes longer than suggested cooking times ... 8 hours can turn out to be 10 plus hours. Early on, don't count on a new recipe to be ready at the alleged cooking time. However, I find most "long cooking" recipe times ,whether in a slow cooker or dutch oven, to be over optimistic.
Summary: I've owned this slow cooker for just over 1 1/2 months and have used it 7 or 8 times. Among the things I've cooked in it are - ribs, chili, chicken stew, beef stew and cooked apples. This is a smaller slow cooker than I've used in the past but as our kids move on I've found we needed something smaller. It is a sturdy, well made pot that arrived packaged well and in working order. The crock is removable for easy cleaning.
Summary: Sure, it was nicer and newer than my old Rival slow-cooker... took a bit longer to cook things, but loved the 'keep warm' setting. THEN, stoneware base totally separated from rest of insert while cooking chili overnight.(Broke into 2 pieces). Awoke to dried-out contents in pot, and liquid all down cabinets, floor, under counter appliances... a huge mess! Product had been used less than 20 times. Customer service response was "Sorry...
