Summary: After 19 months of use the gift stopped working. I bought this as a replacement and hope for a longer life. I bought it so the old ceramic pot and lid would work with this. I use it very often, the programmable time and temperature is very handy. wish it would allow x time at y temperature and then xx time at yy temperature to give more flexible cooking options (like to bring to a boil and then simmer, unattended).
Summary: I have a 6 qt crock pot but decided to try the smaller model because I am cooking for one now. I have yet to cook anything (pot roast, pork roast, chicken) that isn't totally tasteless. The unit itself is quite nice so perhaps I'm just a lousy cook. I follow all recipe directions to a T but stuff still tastes lousy.
Summary: I had a larger crock pot but found it too large for me. This one has enough room for 1 or 2 and maybe left overs as well. It is easy to set does a nice job. It also has an excellent keep warm time after cooking is finished.
Summary: I had a 6 qt. slow cooker and wasn't using it due to the fact that I lost both my adult daughter and husband a few years ago and for one person a 6 qt. slow cooker is ridiculous, So I bought this baby and although I have not used it yet it will be terrific for me. I can cook meals that are freezable for the future and that serves me well.
Summary: Did quite a bit of research before making this purchase and overall have no regrets. The compact size is nice. It is the first slow cooker I have had which actually cooks in the amount of time stated in recipe books including ones that did not come with the appliance. I would have given a perfect rating if this product included a heavier lid and if it were truly programmable.
Summary: I used to have the much larger Cuisinart slow cooker and wore it out. I had bought it at Costco and was crazy about it, but they stopped selling it and instead sell the Crock Pots. I bought one of those Crock Pots and just hated it, so I brought it to the thrift store to get rid of it. I should have returned it to Costco but didn't think of it at the time. I'd been looking everywhere to find another Cuisinart slow cooker so I was quite stunned to find this on Amazon.ca.
Summary: I have not had this cooker very long. Since I received it, I used it twice in the first week. My previous slow cooker was the most basic model you could get. Off-high-low were the only controls. This thing seems to have all the bells and whistles one can ever need. It works like a charm and does what I bought it for perfectly(brown rice). One tip I would like to pass along. Line the inside of the cooker with cooking spray before putting in the ingredients.
