Summary: I had a shredder like this one for at least 6 years and my husband jammed it. While I was switching between shred and reverse to clear it; it gave up the ghost. The new one is great--just remember not to stuff it and if it jams switch between shred and reverse until it is cleared. However; be wise about this procedure and don't overdo it. Would buy again.
Summary: This is my second shredder of this brand. I liked the first one so well I bought another one exactly like it. I had my first for five years and never had any trouble until I put something in it that looked fine but ended up having something stuck maybe in the binding that was a heavy plastic that I didn't notice and it stuck in the corner of the blades and caused it to quit shredding. It would reverse but not shred.
Summary: My well-meaning wife bought this for me as a present. Alas, unless you need to shred just a few sheets of paper once in a while, this shredder (and other Fellowes models, no doubt) is completely useless. The motor will just stop working, except in reverse, for periods ranging from a few minutes to half an hour.
Summary: Its a little top-heavy and the paper to be shredded needs to be placed exactly in the feeder unlike my previous one (different make) where exactness was not necessary. Kind of strains with 5 sheets and I dont think a credit card wouldnt put a big strain on it. I'll use it for the 30 days and see what developes.
