Excerpt: I purchased this unit based on shred time and cool down time. As with most shredders you cannot shred the max amount of pages without creating a jam. This unit jams very easily. The sheets must go into the feeder straight, if the pages fold on either side you immediately create a jam.
Summary: Advertised as an 8 page shredder in the description It jams constantly in use. I am limited to 2 pages shredded at a time -- not at all what I expected. The shredder is also very hard to empty because of the front cutout..
Excerpt: When it worked, it worked well. Jammed frequently, if fed over 4 sheets at a time. The first time we used it for a credit card, it completely fell apart and basically ate itself. I'm leery about buying another made by fellows.
Summary: Useful, quick but very loud! Had to put outside the office to shred.. in the hallway. Can not carry a conversation on the phone with the shredder 5 feet away even. It is 12 feet away and still very loud. Would not recommend for IN office use. Great for a warehouse!
Excerpt: I spoke with a representative in trying to select the best shredder and did chhose this one. I was dissapointed because the representative said the bin was pull out and it is not the top must be lifted off to empty the unit
Pros: Adequate Bin Capacity, Good Power Output, Shreds Quickly
Summary: Fellowes Powershred P-48C is a nice size for home not home office it is extremely noisy and does jam quite frequently. For those that shred everything, not a good investment. You will spend most of your time cleaning out the bin and fixing jams.
