  • Summary: I really think that this product is everything it says it is. Cross-cuts paper and credit cards just as advertised. I will truly recommend this product to anyone looking for a paper shredder for home office use. Get the 2 year replacement plan to just protect against the odds that you might end up with that one in what ever that never works right. Then just feed it and oil it after each time you have to empty the bin. That's all there is to it.

Jams

Sandy, Staples

  • Excerpt: I purchased this unit based on shred time and cool down time. As with most shredders you cannot shred the max amount of pages without creating a jam. This unit jams very easily. The sheets must go into the feeder straight, if the pages fold on either side you immediately create a jam. Do not use the unit in reverse to try cleaning the feeder bar, that also creates a jam. Did that the first time we used it and took forever to remove the jam.
  • Cons: Jams Easily

  • Summary: This is my third personal shredder for home and I love it; much better than my previous units. The P-48C has met all my expectations for price and performance. I have filled the bin three times without performance issues. I purged an entire year of documents without issue. I considered the price reasonable and Wal-Mart delivered it to my home as promised. Highly satisfied!

  • Summary: My shredders have been having heart attacks. I researched, & searched the net. I am very satisfied with this Fellowes P-48C. Fits comfortably on a typing table near my desk, easy to use, does several sheets at a time. Slot is not wide enough to get more then maybe 5/6 sheets thru, I am a Realtor with a home office and this does very well for me. Wish there were a secret door that opened to empty the paper out.

Owned for 2 years

  • Excerpt: When it worked, it worked well. Jammed frequently, if fed over 4 sheets at a time. The first time we used it for a credit card, it completely fell apart and basically ate itself. I'm leery about buying another made by fellows.
  • Pros: Adequate Bin Capacity, Easy To Set Up
  • Cons: Unreliable

Shreddin'

  • Excerpt: I have only had this shredder for two weeks, but it seems to be well-made and it handles quite a few sheets without jamming. It's pretty noisy, but this is the 4th or 5th shredder I've had over the years and it's not much noisier than the others I've had.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Fast Operation

  • Summary: Only able to shred 1 sheet at a time. More than 1 sheet and the unit jams! My husband had to manually pick, out with tweezers, the jammed paper. Frustrating to say the least.
