Fellowes Shredder 73ci
Excerpt: I never write these reviews but I thought I should let others know. I received the Fellowes shredder and was very disappointed. Plastic was low grade and flimsy. The product description says the machine will shred 12 sheets of paper. The red light came not allowing the shredding mechanism to turn on when I put in 10 sheets. So I lowered the sheet count and It went very slow with 8 sheets. Not sure how they came up with 12 sheets but it does not work.
Excerpt: The Fellows Powershred 73Ci has been utilized since its purchase 2 weeks ago for 8 kitchen size bags of peace of mind shredding of sensitive papers. It has not overheated or jammed as occurred often with my previous shredder. I would recommend highly this item for the necessity of destroying documents and papers to avoid fraud. The staff at Staples were helpful explaining the different models.
Excerpt: So far, so good. Very pleased with new shredder. Just like its advertisement, it doesn't jam which is one of the reasons we boughtit for our company. Like the cross-cut feature also. Only draw backis the size of the collection bin. Wished we had bought a largergallon capacity model. But this is not that big a draw back.
Summary: I needed and still need to shred boxes of personal, medical, financial records. A year later, this shredder still does the job with no hitches; no jams; powers through thick sheafs of paper and unopened envelopes of material. Have also shredded credit cards and CDs. Cross-cut is just right; any smaller and there would be too much paper dust to deal with. I recommend this to anyone needing a serious home shredder.
