Summary: This is second fellows shedder we've bought. More expensive that the first. While it does shred faster, it seems to have less power & is definitely noisier. That being said, it does do a good job.
Summary: My old Fellowes shredder died after 10 years of shredding, so I went out and purchased one just like it. Although it is not exactly the same, the container that carries the shredded stuff is about 1/3 smaller than my old one.
Summary: We have toddlers in the house and this is the safest shredder we've had. Our other one you could switch off the safety with a switch. this one you cannot so it's much safer when curious toddlers are around.
Summary: I have had several Fellowes shredders over the past forty years, all a little larger. They have been very reliable and easy to use in my income tax preparation business where we shredded large stacks of paper each year. But now that I am retired I thought a less expensive model would do.
Summary: My old strip shredder kept cutting out after a minute and I decided that I wanted the extra security of a cross cut shredder. I found the instructions in the paper bin inside the machine. It happily munched a bundle of paperwork and cards before I noticed some wispy white 'smoke' coming from it.
Summary: This shreader does a great job and is much better cleaning up than our old one which left paper clippings all over the place when emptying. Just wish it had a slot for a cd to shread. I highly recommend because it last too because we use it everyday
