Excerpt: This is a replacement for an older model Fellowes shredder that performed well and Fellowes support handled any issues quickly. Bought this upgraded model to handle our heavy usage needs better (busy medical office). Bonus is that even though the decibels listed for both models was the same - this one is much quieter!
Pros: Adequate Bin Capacity, Doesn't Jam, Easy To Empty, Easy to Use, Good Power Output, Large Sheet Capacity, Quiet Operation, Shreds Quickly
Summary: I had this shreadder for a couple of weeks, and so far, I am pleased with its performance. It is not overly noisy and does the job. I bought it from Walmart on line, at the lowest price in comparison to others, and a couple of day later I picked it up at my local store. But I ran out of plastic bags, a few are provided with the machine, and I needed them right away, so I went to several office supplys stores, even Home Depot, but could not find a 16 gallons bag size.
Excerpt: Shreds well when you can get it to work but we've had difficulty with it from the moment it came in. On/off switch is unreliable. Seems to be a surface tension switch but no matter the amount of pressure (light or heavy) couldn't get it to switch on. Finally came on but still not sure when it will work and won't. Now the power supply seems to have gone and even when the door is open, no lights come on. Will try to return but won't buy this brand again.
Summary: This machine is aweful. We have had it for 5 months and have had the gears replaced twice, and there has been a sensor problem from the beginning. It runs non stop. It has only ran for maybe 10 hours total, with about 100 total fill-ups. It only takes 2-3 papers now or else it jams. It's a horrible machine.
Summary: This paper shredder is excellent! It is easy to use, safe and easy to empty. It shreds paper, CD's and credit cards. It arrived within a few days in excellent condition. Highly recommended if you need a large shredder. Several plastic bags for the paper were also provided. Great machine!
