Summary: Good replacement at a reasonable price ! My husband has aked me to edit this review, by saying that this razor used as a wet shaver, gives a terrific close shave. He had never used such a razor before and in the beginning, he was using it dry. Now a convert, he continually sings it's praises. Downside maybe is the fact that the foil-head is a bit tight to remove for cleaning, neverthless, top-marks !
Summary: One good thing about this shaver is its modest dimensions. We seem to be in an era of gigantic shaving products. There is something a bit dodgy about wanting a shaver that is twice the size it needs to be! Don't buy this shaver if you want a fast shave. The F4800 takes several minutes even with daily shaving of my average growth pattern. Charging, as pointed out elsewhere, is poor. I bought shaver because I was in a hurry.
Summary: I have been using Remington shavers for many years. The F4800 is bigger and heavier than the previous model which was not washable. It takes me a longer time to have a shave, compared with the previous model. However considering the price of a new foil and cutter it is a good value for money.
Summary: Not having bought an electric razor for about 20 years, I found that the range available to choose from was large and that there wasn't one directly comparable to the one I was replacing. My choice, therefore, had two criteria; price and brand reputation. It is unfortunate that my lack of knowledge of the current market led me to choose a Remington twin-head.
