Summary: This is a very dissapointing shaver. I do have a heavy growth, however after Using this shaver for the last two weeks, I have found it to be poor. Believe it or not after having persevered, it's now back in the box and I am using my old shaver. I should add that the last time I used the philips arcitec even after 30 mins I still had the odd patch of growth.
Summary: I bought my RQ1095 in May 2009 & have persevered with it but I now hate it. The problem is that it can cut! I've never had this before with an electric razor (I've used Braun for years) but the Philips has nicked my lip and neck several times. It is also not very good at longer hairs & leaves them uncut. The trimmer is useless & traps hairs rather than cutting them & you have to remove the shaving head to use it - very clumsy just to trim a long hair its missed.
Summary: Bought for my husband, but been very dissapointed with its performance. Does'nt seem to cut very well, esp on neck and chin area. If you press too hard it does'nt cut at all, but if you don't press at all it cuts very little, you can't seem to win with this one - having said that every man's face is different and it may just be the way my husbands stubble grows!! Overall not impressed though, he is sticking to wet shaving.
Summary: I have had this shaver for a good few weeks now; on the face it gives a pretty close shave; but on the neck... it leaves very noticeable hairs, that is why i only give this shaver 2 out of 5. i have to use a normal manual razor to shave my neck.... no matter how i shave my neck; it does not give a close shave at all.
