Summary: Have had a succesion of Philishaves for the last 25 years so can be considered a loyal buyer. I therefore post this review with some sadness as Philips appears to have had a fundamental issue with this model. This premium unit initially worked very well but, after about 12 months, I noticed that the shaver was losing charge much more quickly than normal. in addition, the available max charge dropped from 65 mins to 59, then 55, then 49....all in the space of 4 months.
Summary: I bought this shaver on recommendation; unfortunately it has not lived up to expectations. Originally the battery indicator showed 65 minutes available but now it is down to 38, I have always taken care to complete proper discharge/conditioning cycles of the battery but this has not helped. The shaver itself does not nor has never given a close shave and it is getting worse.
Summary: Did a lot of research before buying this, and with excellent value from Amazon it was a no-brainer. Excellent shaver. Feels good in the hand, and looks superb. But more importantly it shaves very well - very smooth both during and the result afterwards. It is true that you need to adopt a different technique if you have been used to foil razors like Brauns but the cut is better.
Summary: This is a very dissapointing shaver. I do have a heavy growth, however after Using this shaver for the last two weeks, I have found it to be poor. Believe it or not after having persevered, it's now back in the box and I am using my old shaver. I should add that the last time I used the philips arcitec even after 30 mins I still had the odd patch of growth.
Summary: I brought this shaver last year and gave it 3-4 months for my skin to get use to it, total waste of time, this shaver misses hairs, the small beard trimmer is pointless - it doesnt cut anything, it takes roughly 20 mins to complete one all over shave and then your left feeling like edward scissorhands has gone over you.
Summary: This shaver is supposedley top of the range,it is the worst philips shaver I have ever owned. It is the most expensive but the worst performer of the 7 shavers i have used. It takes longer to shave, longer hairs it just does not like and the trimmer is useless. Cheaper shaver in the philips range perform much better. A very dissappointed customer.
Summary: Have used electric shavers for many years and have always bought the cheaper ones thinking that the technology claims were mostly hype. After trying most of the different brands I found that Phillips was the best, giving the closest shave but not as good as a wet shave. I decided to splash out and spend on a more expensive model (Although half price still cost £125 + pp.) I have to say that this is the best shaver I have every used and shaves as close as a wet shave.
Summary: i had one of these razors when they first came out, then i chose their brand new razor 3d one and did,nt like it one little bit, (delicate heads)so i returned it, and got this razor in its place, now would,nt be without it,110%
Summary: My wife brought me this razor for Christmas and I've waited until now to give a review. I used to use a Philips top draw razor that was about 10 years old, and finish off with a Mach 3. Now I get a shave as good or better than the Mach 3. I clean it with the jet clean once a week, and leave the liquid to settle and decant back most of the fluid, only throwing a little away each week. Fab shave and a fantastic looking razor.
Summary: I've had many shavers over the years mostly from Philips, and have always had a preference for multi-head shavers over foil shavers like Brauns. Having bought this shaver from Amazon, I have to say that this is the worst Philips shaver I have ever owned. It does not shave closely at all, so I'm not even going to get to the cleaning solution.
