Summary: Wow, this was a disappointment. I've used an older Nivea model for 7 years, and it was fantastic. I love being able to shave dry, or squirt out a little lotion and shave wet. But this razor is a pretty poor "advancement" in Norelco evolution. While small and pretty durable, the shaving head now lacks the ability to go concave, so it misses a lot, and the harder you push, the worse the shave (unintuitively.
Pros: Shaves some of your facial hair, shaving gel is nice, though a little greasy. Compact and portable. Newegg shipping is fast and always a treat.
Cons: Doesn't come with protective case. Produces a poor shave. No hair collector, so leaves facial hair all over the place. Leaves much to be desired in the "clean shaven" department. That is, of course, the point of these things... The 2-egg rating is because it shaves, but does so poorly. Shop around, or go for a lower priced non-lotion Norelco, it will be worth your while.
Summary: This razor works quite well in the shower, but noticed some neck irritation even with the Nivea lotion in the shower. For best shave with this razor: I read from a review website that this razor will give you the best results (even without using the Nivea lotion) if you use shaving cream along with this electric razor. I'd never heard of using shaving cream with an electric razor, but since it's a wet/dry razor it wouldn't be difficult to clean.
Pros: - Inexpensive for an electric razor - Shaves the Neck fairly Well (see other thoughts) - Nivea shave lotion feels nice
Cons: - Poor electric razor for dry shaving - Nivea shave lotion is expensive
Summary: I bought this for my disabled son, as I shave him, and it's worked really well. I can use it wet or dry, and "dry," with the Nivea lotion is a neat comfortable way to give him a close shave. It's pretty fast, too!
