The only occasional need I have is blade replacement, and not always easily accessible in my area.

Summary: I have used this razor for both head and face for several years now. It is smooth, easy to handle and cut's close even through a couple days of growth if/when I choose to be lazy. Thanks for the great device!
Summary: This razor was too expensive. It takes way too long to shave and I end up with what feels like a five o'clock shadow and my face is sore all day long from trying to get a close shave. It definitely is not THE ULTIMATE SHAVING EXPERIENCE you advertise.
Summary: I have been a life long razor shaver. Bought an electric as a temporary solution after recovering from shoulder surgery. There's a learning curve for sure. Use pre-shave, go slow, go against the grain. Good for an in between shave. I'm a convert.
Summary: I bought the Phillips one step below the current one last year and the one just recently purchased is a 2D 1160. It requires a number of times going over the same area. When used with water and shaving cream it seems to work better, the fact that I am a woman using it on my legs may make a difference. My husband used it and it seemed to do well. I thought it would be the reverse since men have coarser face hair.
Summary: I got this thing for Christmas 2012. Have already had to replace the blade head after 6 months which was in June. Now it looks like I will need another one by December. More $$$ for Phillips! The shaver has a major flaw - the head assembly just snaps on with a little clip. If you shave a little too fast or press a little too hard, the head flies right off the body, hits the ground and comes apart. This happens once or twice a shave to me. A real pain.
Pros: good battery life
Cons: head flies off too easy, blades bad in 6 months, jet clean not worth it
Summary: Upon using this shaver I like its feel in my hand, its quiet opperation, it gives as good a shave as any razer about a 98% effective shave, its cleaning station is quiet, I like how it cleans and then sits without charging the shaver so as not to overcharge, I like the seperate trimming device, it is streamlined and it feels good to shave with.
Pros: see above
Cons: no cons yet give me another year to evaluate this
Summary: Have used Norelco razors since 1965 when my wife bought me my first as a gift. Sold on them since! This one is light weight and holds a charge for over two weeks. Comfortable, close shave every time. Was concerned that the charger works only with the stand. Stand is awkward to travel with. Concerns alleviated on a two week plus cruise vacation when charge lasted even longer than two weeks. Problem: Head keeps coming off base while shaving.
