Summary: I have had the ES8103 for over two years and I am very satisfied with its performance. I shave every day, including the top of my head, and I get about a week's worth of shaves on a charge. It fully charges in about an hour. The one drawback is that it will not work with the cord plugged in. I consider this minor because it charges so quickly. The ability to choose between a fixed or floating head position is a plus. It is not the quickest shave but it does get it close.
Summary: I didn't know what to expect from this shaver at first but after I tried it.....I am a believer. The power of this shaver is very good and it's not too heavy in either hand. I'm an Afro American male and the closeness of the shave is the most confortable I've come across in a electric razor. I use it as a wet shaver and cleanup is a breeze.
Summary: Shaves pretty close but not as close as the 8109. No self cleaning system...thats kind of a bummer. But that will save you over $100. Charges last a few days. Panasonic makes the best wet & dry razors!
Summary: This is a pretty good shaver. However, it takes time and work to get that close shave. It particularly requires multiple passes to get the neck hairs. Because it takes so much time, I only get three to four shaves per charge. Then there's that annoying problem of their not including a cleaning brush....
Summary: Coming from a blade razor this is a good razor for every day use. The "Sideburn Trimmer" is mediocre and is not very good for trimming a mustache or beard. Charge lasts for days and charges quickly. I like the cord that plugs into the bottom as opposed to the stand for the counter. This takes up less space and is lighter for traveling too. Good shaver and good value compared others.
Summary: Got this on sale for my honey. Straight razors aren't his thing, so he's been using the bargain electric shavers that take forever to get the job done. When he first got it, he was scared that it would shave the skin right off his face. The hairs on his face are soft, but they grow in fast and thick. Now he can shave everyday and it only takes a few minutes. He hasn't tried a wet shave but so far has been thrilled with it.
Summary: I bought this for about $100 and previously had a Bruan series 7...the series 7 was my first electric razor and it was very smooth, dry-only usage, and i did not need any pre-shave treatment. I could literally go from waking up to shaving my beard as is, and earned a very close shave, only having to go over areas once. With the Panasonic, i confess i have only used it about 6 times, mostly as a wet shave, but it just doesn't do nearly as close a shave as the Braun.
Summary: Prior to purchasing this shaver I was using a 10-15 yr old electric (from the late 90s) that was a similar style and that had been given to me. That shaver was not very effective, hurt, and left me always needing to clean up my shave with a regular blade razor. I bought this one and was amazed at how close the shave was. It gives me a complete shave, and I have to do little or no cleaning up with a regular blade.
Summary: I shave before I shower. I use Williams Electric shave, a few drops spread over the face, give it about 15 seconds to dry and then shave. Afterwords a quick rinse of the heads and your done. I have taken care of my shaver, keep it clean and when it gets down to 10% remaining battery life I charge it. When I travel I always charge it before I pack it. I pack it into an old Remington travel pouch. Then pack it in my suitcase where it will not get banged around.
Pros: If used with a light touch this shaver does the job comfortablely and close. I have used this shaver daily for over 2 years the Lithium ion battery is as good today as it was new. My old Remington, I had to have the battery changed every year. Very easy to keep clean. A couple of drops of Dawn detergent on the heads, run it under hot water and rinse the head area out and you are done. No more brushing. The linear Sawyer drive motor is different. Their are no rotating ...
Cons: I have to change the foil and blades every six months.
