Summary: I owned (and still own) two Braun electric shavers before I switched to Gillette razors for about 7 years. Recently I decided to switch back to electrics due to problems with ingrown hairs and irritation. I'd been using my Braun 7505 Syncro for a couple months, and after doing some research decided to upgrade to the Series 7. The first shave was phenomenal- close and comfortable, with no irritation at all. Since then, however, it has gone downhill.
Summary: Braun shavers has always been my go to shaver, the only thing on this shaver that I do not like compared to my last Braun is the trimmer. It does not get as much power to the trimmer as my last Braun.
Summary: This shaver is well built and has many features. I do not rate it highly because I could not get nearly as close a shave as I can with a much less expensive Reminton shaver. Cleaning/charging base takes up too much counter space.
Summary: I read 100's of reviews about which electric razors work best and after much consideration- I went with the Braun 7 series. I did everything the instructions recommended and to no avail I could not get the shave that I had expected. Skin irritation is inevitable with every razor I have ever tried. The only solution I have found is to trim my beard hair and just always keep some amount of scruff.
Summary: First of all Walmart.com was the best price around for the 790 and had first class service, timely delivery, and good service. That said, after about a month of use, I'm less than impressed with this shaver. I've used Braun in the past, then mainly blades for several years, and this shaver does not shave as clean or close as a blade. The convenience and lack of mess of blades is nice, but the Braun 790 is average in my opinion at best.
Summary: I have used the Braun shaver over a week now and it still doesn't provide the close shave it advertises, at least not in all parts of my face. The instructions say to wait a few days for the razor/face to adjust to each other. I think a week should be enough. I shave for at least 5 minutes every morning and I still end up leaving the house with stubble. Also, the cleaning solution appears to be a money maker for Braun.
Summary: Braun Series 7 790cc-3 Electric Rechargeable Foil Shaver with Clean & Renew System Braun have done it again, good shaver but the rest of the product is poor. I purchased one for a present to myself for my birthday. The clean and renew system on my first purchase just did not work. Amazon again up to their good standards of sale or return, replaced the total item without question. The second replacement lasted for three cleaning procedures and then again gave up working.
Summary: Don't throw away your wet shave razor just yet, this shaver is excellent for the face area but terrible for the neck. You end up with a horrendous neck effect that makes it look like you have never shaved before. I've tried pressing harder, stretching the skin till it hurts, rotating the blade 360 degrees, nothing helps, it's really really bad at doing the neck area.
Summary: On the plus side: I get a nice shave from the Brawn Series 7 unlike the shaves I've had from rotary shavers. The sensitivity adjustment on it works very well to stop irritation to the skin. I normally suffer from a rash on my neck after shaving but find that I had no irritation at all using this model Battery life is good On the down side, I find the hygiene level drops right down after just one shave, and to get it back up to full again, you have to clean it in the dock...
