Summary: Just bought this last week. Here are my observations: Positive: 1) It provides very close shave! I would say its even better than my razor as they'll go blunt pretty fast. Makes my skin very smooth. 2) Extremely value for money. For this money that you pay, its well worth it & very practical. 3) Easily washable 4) Recharges fast in under 60 mins. Negative: 1) Quite noisy. The sound can be heard by everyone in my house. 2) Build quality is just marginally acceptable.
Summary: I bought this shaver because it was almost the price of just the replacement blades on my higher end Panasonic. It is not the most refined electric shaver out there (loud and more vibration than I was used to), but it gives the closest shave you can get. The one big downside is it has no feature to cut longer hairs, so if you skip a day shaving, it may take a while.
Summary: Shaver is unidirectional so I need to cover the same area in multiple passes and directions to get all the hair. It does do a smooth close shave and is washable. I also have a beard and the trimmer is fair but not conveniently placed making it difficult to see what you are trimming. The guard which allows shaving the beard evenly is too close for me and leaves very short beard hair. This shaver charges quickly and the charge lasts for several days. It is easy to clean.
Summary: Overall, this is a great shaver for the money and the first one that I've ever owned that actually gives me a close shave. My only complaints are: 1)it's heavy 2)it's noisy and 3)the on/off button is by your thumb and gets pressed occasionally while you are shaving, by accident. I bought one for my son also, who just started shaving. He's happy with his.
Summary: I've always shaved with electric, so all my comparisons are based off my previous electric shaver. I can't recall what model my old shaver was, but it was a lift-and-cut type shaver. I had two issues with that shaver - if I let my beard grow at all, lift-and-cut became rip-and-cut (a very painful shave) and also the trimmer stopped working. The Braun 1775 does not have these problems. It is a very comfortable shave and the trimmer works quite well.
