Summary: I had my previous machine for 27 years, so it was time for an update. I set my price range, needs, narrowed my search and read every review of the machines on the short list. The Quantum Stylist won for the following reasons. This is a very versatile machine - good for those who like to do machine embroidery, general sewing and quilting. The accessories that came with the machine are excellent, and the bonus package of additional pressure feet was great to receive.
Pros: Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use
Cons: Auto Threader Not Reliable, Snap On Pressure Feet Are Much More Convenient
Summary: The needle threader broke the first week. I did not take it back to a singer repair, because I life 25 miles from one. The plate is set high in front, so the seams I am sewing underneath roll up. When quilting a quilt, the quilt hits the buttons on the side of the machine and change stitching. I do love the push button thread cutter when quilting.
Summary: This is the very first machine I ever purchased and I love it. It was a matter of minutes of taking it out the box and I was off and sewing. I watched all kinds of videos while I was waiting for it to arrive so I knew how to thread it and start sewing when I got it. It is so easy to thread and operate that a monkey could do it. All the stitches it has will take me 2 life times to use. I am so glad I got this SINGER 9960...
Pros: Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality, All The Extras That Come With It Are Unreal...
Summary: I love the Singer 9960 Quantium Stylist Electronic Sewing Machine, I like that you have 600 different stitches to choose from. The machine sews very smoothly. It is nice that the machine comes with the bonus extra accessories and cover to protect the machine.Overall I love everything about this machine.
Summary: I really wanted to like this machine, but I am very disappointed in it. The first time I used it, it stopped sewing. The thread gets caught and it stops sewing and I have to get the needle up high enough that I can get the thread cut and manage to get the material out of the machine. I sewed six squares for a t-shirt quilt I am making and I can't sew anymore. So unhappy with it.
Pros: Good Value, Great Features, Easy To Use, High Quality
Cons: Stopped Working After Using For A Very Short Time.
Summary: This was a mother's day gift. I had not done much sewing recently because I did not have a machine to use for the many projects I wanted to make, so I was very excited to get this machine. I was impressed by the reviews and soon got materials for many of the things I wanted to make.
I loved the ease of use and features.
Summary: I LOVE this machine! I had a Singer for over 30 years and decided to upgrade. This machine offers a huge variety of functions, but is still user friendly. The extended sewing surface and all of the extra accessories are very nice. Well worth the money!
Summary: I have had my Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 for a few months now and have used it almost daily since my purchase. I love it! I have used it for piecing quilt blocks, free motion quilting, bobbin work, and twin-needle hemming on a knit skirt. I have taken it to several classes with me, and other people are always impressed with it. In fact, several of my friends have also purchased the same machine after using mine.
Summary: Extremely nice machine. Just takes reading and getting used to over a lesser machine. I have always like quantums over the years, but now everything is built in compared to the cams I had to put in years ago in the Quantum.
