Great straight stitch machine for a reasonable price
2 December 2013
Summary: I quilt almost everyday so I chose the Brother PQ1500 to replace the Juki 2010 I lost in a fire. It cost less & it's a Brother, but I wasn't expecting it to be so good for the price. It's fast, has plenty of power & all the features I need. It doesn't have the thread cutting feature in the foot pedal, but that's a good thing for me as I usually cut my thread accidentally several times during a sewing session with the Juki.
Summary: By far this is the best quilting and piecing machine I have used. I have another brother that I have purchased for quilting but, this one is the best. I have not had any problem with it and it doesn't move around the table as I am quilting. I also don't have thread breakage while I am sewing.
Summary: I love this Brother sewing machine. I wanted a fast & hard working machine. It is heavy enough so it doesn't vibrate, but you can move it with out much trouble. I have made 2 quilts since getting it for Christmas (2012). I bought it new on E-Bay, you can't beat the price. I have seen this very machine priced nearly 3 times as high at a leading store. I was a tailor for 35 years this is alot like the industrial I used. Have 2 other Brother machines.
Summary: This machine free motion quilts like a dream! It has no trouble sewing through many layers with the pin feeding system either. I bought this machine for free motion quilting. This machine has exceded my expectations in all ways related to sewing and quilting. If I could add one feature it would be a separate bobbin winder so I wouldn't have to stop sewing.
Summary: I was tired of "fighting" with my old machine while quilting, read all the reviews and decided this machine would be perfect, uncomplicated, ease of operation. Unbelievable difference, I can make my squares sooo much faster, the thread doesn't break, the needle doesn't unthread all the time. Sewing is very quite, and actually relaxing. I LOVE this sewing machine.
Summary: I love this staight stitch machine. It's actually identical machine to Baby lock Quilter's Choice, but cheaper. I use it for sewing clothes. Lots of accessories and extra feet can go with it. That's main reason I purchased this machine. It's a high shank machine. Only straight stitch. Just in case you are looking for something else.
Summary: I have been sewing for a number of years. I was very pleased with this machine. It is easy to adjust the tensions. The feet are easy to attach and adjust. I am a quilter so I need on that sews peicing fast and gets through quilt stiching with ease. I did have problems with the top thread breaking quite often at first but worked with the tensions and this did not happen as often. Good Solid feeling machine.
