Totaly recomenable to friends! ever with the power drawback.

Summary: Pro: Awesome, not much to go on, but every mom that has seen it want's it. and there is a lot of extra sewing foots and a stuff on the ebay that works with it. Con: Surprise it's 120v, so a converter from 220v -> 120v was needed, as it turns out a proper 50W power converter will do the job, (a cheap china one will not!
Summary: Iwas visiting a friend and she has this machine. I was fascinated with the ease of use and the features of the machine, so I went home and started bidding on e-Bay. So far, there is nothing to dislike about this machine. I wish I had better sewing skills in order to use this machine to its full capabilities. This machine is very tolerant of my mistakes. I must say it beats the heck out of the machine I replaced it with!
Higher priced features for way less. Love, love, love it!

Summary: My favorite sewing machine ever! It's best features are: Automatic thread clipping, the auto needle threading is an excellent design, never seems to miss, and love the way it handles heavy jean fabrics with ease, although you still need to run at a slower speed. It is a very smooth running machine. Has reignited my love of sewing. This machine has the features of a higher priced machine for way less. Love it!
Summary: Love this machine so far. I had lost interest in sewing, but I have already completed two items since receiving my new Brother and have many more projects planned. It sews like a dream compared to my old machine.
Summary: Fantastic, better than I anticipated. Very important to read the manual and refer to it to get started, but it sews like a dream. I had researched many machines and this was definitely the best buy! Many, many features--haven't tried them all yet, but can't wait.
Summary: I previously had a Brother Innovis-40 that I really enjoyed, but wanted even more features and stitches. This Brother PC-420 ROCKS! I used to be a beginning- to- slightly- intermediate sewer, but with these two Brother machines I've had I am now intermediate, and spending so much time and enjoyment sewing that "advanced" is on the horizon. The Brother PC-420 has SO many stitches to choose from, and I have used several of them already in this first month of ownership.
Summary: My Bernina locked up and I quickly needed a machine to finish some sewing since I had a grandbaby on the way. I went to consumer reports; it stated that this was the best machine for the money at this time------I agree. I love it; it's very user friendly for a non-computer person. It has great instructions, and functions as had been promised. I would purchase it again.
Summary: Really love the machine. It was easy to get acquainted with, was using it in earnest within a couple hours. Probably could have been used in earnest straight out of the box, but I wanted to REALLY get to know it! Really easy to thread, bobbin threading and drop in is a snap. Decorative stitches are easy to access, combining stitches seems easy, have not mastered it yet. Also like the beep and display when I forget to do or do something incorrectly.
Summary: This is truly a garment machine. And affordable! I now may not ever be able to live without a knee lift, thread cutter, needle threader, and needle up/down again...but it is too aggressive on the delicate knits and other fabrics that I tend to use. Augh...nothing is perfect!
