Summary: Very frequent crashes. Remote often fails to respond. The most awkward, clunky, poorly-designed user interface. I trusted Samsung but this is such an inferior product. Simply not fit for purpose. In one word: rubbish!
Summary: I know someone who tried two of these and took them both back. Silly me, thinking he was just unlucky I went ahead and got one - well it is voted best Freesat+ box two years running by What Hi Fi magazine after all... Quite easy to use, had trouble tuning it at first but once that sorted was ok for while, then the problems started. 1. It Freezes/locks up - will not respond to the remote control. Only solution is to (yes, you've guessed it!) turn it off and on again.
Summary: I bought this thinking 'it cant be that bad, the reviews must just be from people who've been unlucky'. But.... It didn't work properly at all. Didn't record when set to. Lost programmes when it did eventually record them, stopped recording half way through. Menu design was really good, liked the small screen in the corner. Had high expectations because of the make of this product however, I sent it back, wishing I'd believed the bad reviews in the first place.
Summary: The library regularly wipes itself and the recommended factory reset does not help. Only saves a few recordings and now the tv guide does not go further than 24 hours. A waste of money if you can't rely on it to record. You only have to type the product into a search engine to find so many other dissatisfied customers and all of the suggested solutions are short lived. DO NOT buy!
Summary: This product is a bad advert for samsung, it's the first product of theirs I have purchased and it will be the last. Library disappears, do the reset and enter all timer events. Few weeks later library disappears, etc, etc ,etc. Timer events go missing, series link does not always work though these got better when latest software downloaded. However, the recording / timeshift of what your watching does not work now. Looking for a replacement that works.
Summary: I've had Sky+ HD, a Humax Freesat+ HD box and now bought this when Sky got too expensive. It is an attractive box with a good remote control, picture quality is good and features are what you'd expect, although a picture in picture feature would be nice and is perfectly do-able with 2 inputs provided you're not recording. I would have rated it far higher if not for the niggles. When we first bought it, I upgraded the firmware but still found the response painfully slow.
Summary: Had this just under 12 months its ok but not very happy that it keeps losing all the library and all samsung have to say is that they are aware of it and to keep unplugging and resetting ,wouldnt buy another
Summary: This does not work - when u record something it will not let u watch anything else by saying 2 recordings are in progress! When there is only one programme being recorded - second u cannot watch "on demand" because it says your device is not connected! Even though I have connected it to my wifi with a wireless Internet adapter!
Summary: I bought this after much searching and revue reading. It worked really well as a freesat box and pvr except that the programme guide/record planner is next to useless. It cuts off the end of programmes nearly every time. Having to use the onscreen keyboard for searches is pretty useless as well. Neat interface though and good quality overall. Web access setup was very easy. UPDATE - after owning for about six weeks we started getting signal problems.
Summary: I bought the item on 11th July 2012. At first it was the bees knees, replacing a Sky+ HD box that became too expensive to maintain due to subscription fees. At first, the box was ideal. Simple to set up, simple to use, able to record what I wanted, when I wanted. HD is excellent quality. Finding channels is a breeze. EPG is excellent as you can tailor it to what you want. What more could I have wanted???? I could have wanted the item to maintain its ability to function.
