Summary: Very frequent crashes. Remote often fails to respond. The most awkward, clunky, poorly-designed user interface. I trusted Samsung but this is such an inferior product. Simply not fit for purpose. In one word: rubbish!
Summary: Don't buy, if you want something easy to use, the instructions wer'nt at all user friendly, you needed a degree to understand Samsung talk. I love new gadgets, didn't like this one. I called the helpline, and all though very polite, didn't help at all. This item was sent back
Summary: The library regularly wipes itself and the recommended factory reset does not help. Only saves a few recordings and now the tv guide does not go further than 24 hours. A waste of money if you can't rely on it to record.
Summary: Great piece of equipment, for freesat perfect picture quality with 500GB hard disk. It has BBC iplayer and ITV player, along with youtube, once you have it liked to your broadband. What hifi gives it 5 stars and award for 2012. [...]

My top picks are the Humax FOXSAT HDR if you are an enthusiast and happy to tinker with software or the Echostar HDS-600RS if you want something that...

Summary: I read all the reviews, and foolishly trusted to Samsung to fix the reported bugs, as I wanted the machine to fit in with my Samsung TV and Blue-Ray player (BD-C5500). I took delivery 23 Dec 2011. I connected it up to the Internet and left the machine to update its firmware.
Summary: Had this for about 6 weeks now, have done all updates. I purchased this to replace Sky as I no longer wanted to pay monthly but would have missed the recording facilities. Love the box, find it easy to use, picture is great, set up was straightforward and once connected to the internet it updated to...
Summary: I chose the Samsung Set Top Box (STB) over the Humax because I also have a Samsung Series 8 LCD TV and their "clamshell" DVD player. I do like the Anynet functionality, even though it can be flaky. It seemed a natural fit.
