Motorola DCT6412 is a dual-tuner high definition DVR set top box. It enables user to receive free to air and encoded TV and radio programmes via cable in HD format and also records the programmes simultaneously.

Features

The DCT6412 features interactive program guide that provides program information and also program guide for future program. Besides that, it also features Video on Demand (VoD) and commercial-free music. Also, it features time shift that allows viewer to pause live TV programme to take a break or answer the phone and then resume watching. It also allows viewer to replay the scene instantly. It features a full range of interfaces including YpbPr, DVI, 1394, USB, Ethernet, SPDIF, Smartcard and more. In addition, it enables viewer to record up to 90 hours of standard digital TV or 12–20 hours of HDTV into its 120 GB hard drive built-in. Also, user can make a personal library for favourite programs to watch for quicker access to the programs. Moreover, user can connect the device to USB device via its two USB connectors (one on front panel). It is built with 4 digit, 7 segment LED display with IR receiver for remote or/and keyboard.

    No, I don't think so as you can use the cable card with the cable
