  • Summary: Overall, once you get used the the functions and how the remote works, it works really well and is an amazing price for what you are getting. Would definitely recommend.
  • Pros: - Price, - Records OTA TV, - Built in (simple) TV guide, - Works great to watch TV, pause live TV, and record current and upcoming programs.
  • Cons: - Recording issues occasionally when pausing live TV. Occasionally it exits and goes to live TV. Also, when rewinding or fast forwarding, it sometimes goes in the opposite direction?!, - Cheap remote. Sometimes has slight delay when pressing buttons., - would be nice to have the USB port on the back so the USB cable doesn't stick out., - Software ok.

  • Summary: Lots of great features. HDMI out at full HD. Records to fast memory stick. I picked up an ADATA 32 GB USB 3.0 stick for $16. (Another great deal). It records, pauses and plays "time shifted" without any problems. You can replay content through the units play back, or pull the stick and load to your computer. I had read the tuner wasn't very good. I live in an area in Coquitlam that is shadowed by Eagle Mountain. When I first set up for OTA.
  • Pros: Works way better than expected!
  • Cons: * No internal clock. Uses station's PSIP data to display time and schedule events., *I lost channel scan while 'playing' in menu area. Had to re-scan channels. This happened way too easily. Not sure what I did. Easy to fix but will be a pain if it happens too many times.

  • Summary: Setup was a breeze. I attached one end to the $25 antenna (Digiwave ANT-2084) and the other end to the TV, turned it on and let the auto search run its course. fyi, I was able to pick up super clear Global, City TV, CBC, Omni 1 & 2, TVO and some US channels from Richmond Hill, with the antenna inside my living room. I reckon it depends on where you live so YMMV.
  • Pros: Easy setup. No TV to free TV in less than 5 minutes!
  • Cons: None so far.

  • Summary: This is a great device to get free OTA television service without paying for service. You'll have to pair it with a very good antenna with a decent amplifier and noise filtering, and then you can easily receive many digital television stations and radio channels. You can record on the fly or schedule program recording but you can't use the device while it's recording so setup a splitter before the unit to your television or monitor and you're set to go.
  • Pros: An excellent alternative to cable television and the ability to record on the fly or schedule recordings of your programs, unlike many other devices out there. Clear QAM support for countries other than Canada, small and flexible as well.
  • Cons: Clear QAM not supported in Canada, and not by Rogers, Shaw or Cogeco. Have to request the Clear QAM firmware update  that adds features to the standard firmware as shipped with the device.

  • Summary: The unit is excellent value if you are considering the option of going off cable and want to save money. You will not get all the speciality channels that you were used to viewing (spike, food, oprah, whatever). But you will have access to the Strong HDTV broadcasts of your local stations so you can keep in touch with the news, and other local interests. You may get lucky and pick up some of the strongest US broadcasts if you are close to their border/transmitter.
  • Pros: Excellent value - Get off Cable, get PVR and Digital Media advantages. Buy this unit if you are looking to save money while still having access to HDTV station broadcasts in your area.
  • Cons: UI is clunky.

  • Summary: Bought it on Sale, - $45. I will buy another one before the sale is over - LOVE IT, HDTV - I can pickup 7 Channels in East Van. 75-100% signal - I have line of sight to Seymour towers. No HD but it keeps cost down. You can add your own USB ext - for PVR and pause live TV - Works GREAT! USB Stick are too Slow and makes recording choppy. Electronic Program (TV GUIDE) is nice. Software could use some improvements.
  • Pros: Small, It just works
  • Cons: No HD, Low Software features

  • Summary: If you're looking for a digital converter box for an old TV, this works great. It has a lot of features you wouldn't expect to find on something so inexpensive. Just make sure to have a good antenna so you can get reception for all the channels in your area.
  • Pros: pvr capabilities, usb media player
  • Cons: interface lag, signal indicator not too accurate, not that easy to change aspect ratio
