Summary: The Humax range of HD receivers have good write ups. We're very pleased with ours. The easy to use remote is a joy to use, especially as it also controls the Panasonic TV. I didn't realise that the HD receiver had an HDMI lead with it, so I purchased one from Amazon - to be honest I can't be bothered to send it back !
Summary: If you're looking for a HD tuner and you're wondering what makes this better than the cheaper ones, don't wonder, just get it. At 80 - 100 quid it's at the top end of the HD tuners but the box I received doesnt even mention that it can record, but guess what, it can! I was umming and ahhing over this and a few cheaper models as I wanted to replace an aging SD set top box. I got this because I was sick of poor quality products and I'm glad I did.
Summary: Great system with a very good picture quality to match, works well as a PVR but care as single tuner, so cannot record and view another channel. Highyly reccomended. Responsive control and EPG with nice little touches.
Tired of paying Sky for hundreds of channels you never watch?

Excerpt: "...the existing package. No thanks. The Humax HD Foxsat provided a real aternative, accepting the existing feeds from the Sky+ dish, so on paper it's a straight swap out, losing the Sky channels and monthly subscription in favour of free to air TV and Radio stations, and with the added advantage of being able to move recorded programs off the hard drive onto a USB connected external storage facility. The box went in and fired up, the on screen user ...
Pros: Escape from the Murdoch corporation, one off payment, great picture, pretty and very useable .
Summary: I was dumbfounded! The standard freeview on my Panasonic HD TV is better that the Freeview HD channels on the Humax box, or is it!? So, where's is the high def? The one important thing you need to know - Press the V-Format button on the remote (at the bottom inbetween Sleep and Wide)until you get 720/1080 broadcast on your TV. The Humax T2 box defaults to 576i even on the HD Channels, so you need to tell it to go to 1080i/p!
Summary: Got one of these a few days ago and felt, initially, I'd made a bad buy - I was not very impressed by it. However, watching the Eurovision Contest last night convinced me of what a good buy it will be. Not really into the EC: some of it was okay and I think Belgium should have won it, but I was definitely into the spectacle which looked superb on a 32" Samsung 1080p. Obviously this is only the start for FreeviewHD - more channels will arrive as it gathers momentum.
Summary: Excellent picture on standard transmission. The HD images are wonderful, unfortunately the ammount available is very limited at the moment, that's not the fault of Humax but the BBC and ITV. The navigation is not as simple as it could be, with more use I'm sure it will be second nature.
