More get-what-you-pay-for goodness from SM

Nathan M., Newegg

  • Summary: No suprises or drama - I guess those are extra. Given the price and small footprint, you can buy a spare chasis to keep in the rack for parts, but you probably wont need it.
  • Pros: Really efficient power supply, good NICs, and probably the best cheapest:reliable 1333mhz system bus dual quad core xeon supporting chasis available. Currently running two WD raptors in each of 4 units - 2 with dual 2gz clovertowns and 2 with dual 2gz woodcrest. Havent really noticed any heating ...
  • Cons: I agree with the other poster in that this case is *real* cramped. The stock sata cables end up being pulled tight to get to the second drive - but it does all fit. The included DVD drive is pretty cheap - one of the four units had a dead one.
