Summary: As others have noted, it is quite loud upon initial start up but quiets down. The boot up time is very long before getting to Windows but this may be a matter of fiddling with some BIOS settings.
Summary: Very happy with this server. Great performance. Good quality and construction. I was going to buy another one, but see that the price just went up from 399 to 499. I'm hoping it drops back down to the old price so I can pick up another one.
Summary: Got this server to replace an old Dell rack mountable server that I run at home. The old server runs ESXi 5.1 but only has 4 cores 4 threads, uses a lot of power and it's noisy. I was able to install ESXi 6.0 on the TS440 with no problems even though it's not officially supported.
Summary: This server is robust and quite. I have used it with Server 2012 R2 Standard and Server 2012 R2 Essentials. It is just perfect. Just note that if you plan to install Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, then do not bother entering computer, administrator and domain details during info...
Summary: Bought this server to use it as a desktop. It's very quiet and installing Windows 8.1 was a breeze.. If used as a desktop, you'll have to buy an audio sound card. I also added a graphic card to be able to connect two monitors to it.
