  • Summary: Since HP gated their firmware updates behind a "support" contract or during warranty period only, can not recommend for home hobbyist at all. Avoid.

HDD Failure

James L., Newegg
12 June 2014
  • Pros: ProLiant MicroServer is great. This review is about the OEM Seagate HDD.
  • Cons: After receiving the ProLiant, I immediately pulled the original Seagate 250GB HDD to install a 2TB RAID configuration. This week I installed the Seagate 250GB HDD in another system. It failed in less than an hour. Seagate does not honor its usual warranty because this is regarded as an OEM drive....

You get what you pay for

Paul B., Newegg
26 August 2013
  • Summary: Naturally the first pre-built computer I've bought in over 15 years lasts just long enough to croak outside of return policy. Thought it was the RAM, bought a replacement and the machine is still stuck with a red light. Will never buy an HP product or pre built computer again.
  • Pros: 1) Small. 2) Cheap price.
  • Cons: 1) Not quiet, could hear across living room. 2) VERY cheap hardware 3) Broke (for me) after about 6 months of light use.

Everything about dealing with Amazon was horrible

William Saltarelli, Amazon
3 July 2013
  • Summary: I ordered this unit for a customer. When it came in, I turned it on and noticed there was NO operating system?? To get it working we had to purchase Microsoft Server 2008. The customer didn't want to purchase extra software so we sent the unit back. My CC was refunded minus a 20% restocking fee?

  • Pros: Heavy.
  • Cons: Item came missing hard drive screws and tork key which is required to unscrew the very small 256gb drive. It was also missing the sata cable needed for the CDrom. newegg said they are not included, but other reviewers say they are included. newegg was very rude on the phone and hanged up on me wh...

A évité

Skyline, Amazon
24 April 2011
