Summary: I went back and forth for 3 days via email with ASUS tech support, they issued an RMA. I wrote a detailed problem report complete with screenshots of the errors I encountered and sent it with the server. When I got it back, it still didn't work. More time with Tech Support and a 2nd RMA was issued.
Pros: Small, Quiet fans, 6 USB & 2 eSATA ports, space for 2 hard drives. Inexpensive Windows Home Srever (WHS). Quick Shipping from NewEgg.
Cons: I was unable to get WHS connector software to connect to TS-Mini Server. The connector software finds the TS-Mini, but is unable to connect/configure the server. I was unable to connect Via RDP. I've replaced the Memory and tried 2 other hard drives with the. I have reimaged the Windows Home Serv...
Summary: DO NOT BUY! You may as well just buy an external drive and manually back up your data each week, as there will be less work involed than if you own the Asus TS Mini! If I could rate it at 0 eggs I would!
Pros: None that I can think of
Cons: This is a total piece of trash. It requires constant attention, restarts, re-installs, etc... What it really needs is a smack with a large hammer. The machine read as having a bad drive, I have replaced it twice... It will not stay connected to the network and can be counted on to crash at least ...

Pros: It was excellent while it worked
Cons: The server is having hard drive issues and Asus Customer Service has been more than difficult to this point. The server worked great for about 3 months and then was powered down. Upon reboot the server would never fully boot and constantly in a reboot state. Asus Support was contacted and the ser...
Summary: I would never recommend a 'headless' server for a home server solution. While it may be a good design for an expert, it can't tell you what is wrong when it can't communicate through software.
Pros: When it worked, it was nice to use as a media file server. Our TV choices and flexibility went up considerably. I liked the size, low power consumption, and the quiet operation.
Cons: First, it is not a beginner's server. It took three days of frustration to get it up the first time. Then, after three weeks. it suddenly stopped communicating. After two weeks of scouring the internet for solutions I managed to get it up accidentally again. Then after less than three months from...
