Summary: price was right. This drill will get very warm when run long and under a load. I drilled some 20+ 1/4" holes in steel (bed frame) and it became fairly hot after only 4-5. I had to take 5 minute breaks periodically to allow it to cool. The fan exhaust air was hot and is expelled at the read where I place my other hand to get the downward force I needed. Otherwise, the drill is of a good weight, fair power and size.
Summary: I love Makita tools. Used to have my own business and needed a reliable driver. This did the job well. Recently started using it again after a long time - still a champ and my batteries refuse to die even after 7 years - no exaggeration.
If you need a good all around cordless hammer drill this is your tool at a great price

Summary: I had to install furring strips on concrete block walls and used the Makita hammer drill to install the Tapcon concrete anchors. I drilled over a one hundred with out any problems. The chuck held the bits well. Make sure you use a 3amp/hour battery when drilling lots of holes.
