Black and Decker screw it with ease... and they offer to hold your screws too
14 November 2014
Excerpt: It offers a 3.5volt battery which is enough power in this unit, although i've used some that offer the same power yet fall flat at the first hurdle, (a little like my horses in the Grand National..!!) You get a bit of kit with it, that being a few driver bits, and extension bit, the charger itself and a quick guide to using it, with its 'does and don'ts' On the top, near the rear, there is a little direction indicator, this shows you which way the motor will run, forward...
Pros: "good enough for Ikea and Argos buys", "nice power", "Easy to use"
A fantastic electric screwdriver for the general DIY'ers
20 September 2012
Excerpt: As sad as it sounds, an electric screwdriver is something that I've always dreamt of owning since being a small child! Many years ago I used to watch my father using his machine and they looked good fun and they always interested me (sad again!). About a year ago now I purchased lots of flat packed furniture to update my bedroom, this is when I realised that I simply could not go on it life without an electric screwdriver.
Summary: As sad as it sounds, an electric screwdriver is something that I’ve always dreamt of owning since being a small child! Many years ago I used to watch my father using his machine and they looked good fun and they always interested me (sad again!). About a year ago now I purchased lots of flat packed furniture to update my bedroom, this is when I realised that I simply could not go on it life without an electric screwdriver.
Pros: Screws well, good battery life and its very reliable !
Cons: Some useless features and batteries are not removeable
Summary: I didn't realise how useful this little tool could be until I bought it on impulse - it was a Marketplace item I think, which meant that it had been returned by another purchaser. More fool them!It may be small, but it powers in screws firmly - if you want them real tight, you can lock out the mechanism and then use the tool as a hand driver. Clever eh? I did wonder about that silly looking orange thing by the drill chuck. Its a magnet.
Summary: I have used this several times now and i get more impressed with it everytime, putting up shelves in garage, 1 inch & 1.5 inch screws into raw plugs, no problem or reversing them out or directly into wood, saves a layer of palm skin. The light is ideal in dark corners but only comes on when pulling trigger, might be better with a seperate switch. Also when pulling trigger you sometimes catch the directional switch.
Summary: I am very pleased with my purchase,it has plenty of power for those small jobs around the home, easy to carry, quite a long battery life,I also like the way it is presented with the screwdriver bits on display.I find I am using it a great deal.It has become my favourite driver now.
Summary: This is the third one of these I've bought - for work, home and parents. It's a really handy little tool. Underpowered for anything meaty (not really worth trying to drill with it) but brilliant for around the house minor stuff. Well worth buying.
Summary: This item arrived in a pseudo biscuit tin which is of little use. Certainly not for storing or carrying the driver etc as it has no handle. The lid was crumpled and someone had attempted to straighten it but failed. The moulded plastic support inside the tin was so thin it had almost totally disintegrated. The instruction booklet was torn. I bought this item to replace a previous model which had stopped working after many years of sterling service.
