Excellent results possible, but complex to install and use

  • Summary: I wrote the first paragraph here as a comment to another review. I'll extend it here. I've given the scanner three stars, which doesn't affect the average; if you can get it to work, which shouldn't be too difficult with the information here, it rates maybe 4 1/2 (5 if it didn't sometimes crash); it not, no stars! I have a Travel Scanner 100 (not from here).

Died after a month

  • Summary: Bought this product because it was a great price despite the 1-star cautionary reviews. Now I know I should of paid attention to those 1-star reviews. Item died after one month of use, could bring back to life by removing and reloading software, after the third time, decided not worth the time and effort. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!

  • Summary: I'd had a Canon flatbed scanner before I got this one, and I loved it, but needed something to work with a newer operating system. After reading the reviews, and reviewing prices, I opted for the Travel Scanner 100. I hate it. The installation is an ongoing nightmare -- after several hourse, I still haven't gotten it installed. I could not register for support because the registration software didn't work.

  • Summary: This product is tricky, but once you make some software adjustments it will work just fine for you. For the best results, I suggest you follow this procedure: After loading the software, with the Scanner attached to your computer by the USB cable, stick a piece of paper into the scanner and let it feed. If the letters "OT" appear in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop, click on it.

A Zero - Wouldn't Work after 8 hours to install

  • Summary: Xerox XTRAVEL-SCAN Travel Scanner 100 Mobile 600 DPI USB Scanner I attempted for three and a half hours to install this scanner without success. So I didn't even get to the point I could test the scanner. I telephoned customer support/ technical support where the technician could not get it to work in another hour. Later I traveled to the store where I bought it; returned it; the store had only two models - same one and another that cost two and a half times as much.

Awesome. Better than expected.

  • Summary: I bought this because it was small so I could use it when I travel for business. It scans receipts very quickly with great quality and crops them automatically. The scan application opens and takes the scan automatically when you insert a paper. I can scan many receipts very quickly. I use it at home instead of my normal scanner now because it is so much faster and it makes doing my expenses much less of a headache. Well worth the money.

Don't waste your money

  • Summary: I purchased 9 of these units. Within a month every one had a problem: muddy images, solid vertical lines or both. After several calls to tech support, and being on-hold for 20 minutes each time, nothing has been resolved. It took several calls for tech support to even recognize that this is a Xerox-branded product. Then a level one guy had me go through basic trouble-shooting repeatedly--all of which I had done while on hold.
