Summary: Pros: Fast, reliable, good software, not cheaply constructed. Scans are good & colors appear true. Acceptable for scanning photos, but I think a photo scanner can do better. Runs on Windows XP-7 x32 (haven't tried on Windows 8 or on a x64 system). Cons: Auto sheet feeder can be quirky. Sometimes it misaligns producing a black bar on the bottom of the scan. Cleaning doesn't help. If quality is paramount, then I just use the glass instead.
Summary: First of all the positives about this scanner. 1. It's fast. Very fast. Whether simplex or duplex. 2. High quality scans. 3. Easy to install. Now for the negatives: 1. If the paper is not "fresh off the printer/copier" and in absolute PERFECT form, the ADF will jam EVERYTIME. Not only does it jam, it wads your original into a tight, crinkled up ball of paper. If the originals were stapled together...forget about it.
Summary: I don't do many reviews but the our 632 deserves one. We run an at home business and about four years ago we were running out of room for file cabinets in our house with four full size cabinets full of customers previous orders and no place for more file cabinets when we decided to go to electronic filing. We produce a customized product with many repeat purchases from our customers so we need to keep all of the documentation of each order.
Summary: Trash. That's what this is. I just spent the last half hour fishing out a wad of paper that got jammed in the document feed. Everything about this product is appalling. I've been working with this scanner for a couple of months now, and I detest it completely. The tray for the document feeder isn't adjustable.
Summary: After a couple of months of daily use, it stops scanning well and starts jamming up even 4 pages in the ADF. I'm looking for something new that is durable because this certainly isn't. I'm scanning for an office so of course most of the pages have had staples in them. Apparently the scanner hates pages that have ever had a staple in it at all. It's a shame because I really like this scanner when it works but the paper jams are just infuriating.
Summary: This is the 6th Xerox 632 that I have ordered and setup for clients. These scanners are very fast and reliable - and no I don't work for Xerox or a distributor. I chose these after a lot of research and trial and error. I have clients ranging from attorneys to landmen (30k pages or more) who are trying to get to a 90% paperless office . This scanner runs circles around the large office scanners that many of them had leased.
Summary: Having owned the Documate 510 (which I have reviewed negatively) I was skeptical about purchasing another Xerox, however this scanner, which is about 4 times the price of the Documate 510 is 100 times better. Its flawless operation is just something to behold. 100 page ADF capacity, a super fast 35 ppm, and two sided scanning make this scanner an excellent choice for heavy duty scanning needs.
Summary: This is our second scanner we have had problems with. The first scanner worked well for a few months then it jams all the time with the adf. We sent it back and got another from xerox worked well again for a awhile then like clockwork it jams all the time and documents are torn a part with the roller. We scan 5000- 8000 or so a week. This year we are already having problems with our second model.
Summary: i've scanned over 10k pages with this scanner. all fine. then i all of a sudden cannot scan anymore. it gives me a paper jam error. i've done everything i possibly can do. then i called amazon since i got the extended warranty and they referred me to xerox who hung up on me about 4 times and argued with me EVERY TIME about a "serial number" and refused to truly help me. i never got an answer and now own a 1300 dollar clunker, with a useless warranty.
