Basic scanner

  • Summary: It does a good job of scanning for a few pages. Sometimes it doesn't read the connection to the computer and you have to start by using the button on the computer screen.

GOOD SCANNER - NO SOFTWARE

John Bean "beaner", Amazon
4 December 2011
  • Summary: I actually bought the model XDM5155D-WU of this DocuMate 515 because of the higher model number. I got a DEAD SOFTWARE CD. I downloaded the drivers from Xerox but I can't get the apps I paid for. Xerox sent me another CD but my computer couldn't read it either. Luckily I read the review referring to ScanWiz and downloaded their 30 day trial. It flat out flies using ScanWiz. I have over 1000 sheets to scan into a pdf and this scanner will have it done in a few hours.

Xerox 515

skb, Amazon
13 June 2011
  • Summary: Continuous reliability problems with the Kofax software and paperport. I am using Windows 7 and XP in my office and both have problems. I have had the techies working on fixing problems to no avail. We are looking to go paperless and will have to find a product with more reliable software to be able to accomplish this task.

Loud, clunky. Quasi-Windows 7 compatible

J. Wang, Amazon
4 March 2011
  • Summary: At my office we've decided to digitize our paper records. Which means several thousand papers to be scanned. Picked up this Xerox brand Documate 515 in hopes of speeding up the process (We do have flatbed scanners, but wanted a document feeder for ease of use). First things first, assembling the scanner was pretty simple. Did it without directions and without too much fuss. The unit looks pretty sleek, though a bit cumbersome (paradoxical design??).
