Pros: This scanner has cleared my filing cabinet and the mess of paper on my desk that was stacking up yet again. I'm one of those people who hates to throw receipts, bills etc away because I may need them at a later date. It was hard to balance that with not having a mess and boxes full of paper work. This scanner helped me copy and organize everything. I can see my desk now, this is a very helpful product!
Summary: I just received this scanner today and started loading to my iMac as the advertisement said it was capable of. No such thing! It is extremely annoying when a product is misrepresented. Now I have to make the decision to return this or do something I did not want to do and hook it up to a PC. DON'T BUY THIS FOR AN APPLE COMPUTER.
Summary: I will never, ever buy a Xerox or Visioneer scanner again. The center roller bit is garbage, everything will pull in and scan in crooked. Double feed detection is a joke, since it constantly pulls in multiple sheets. Save your money and buy something else. For the money I spent on this, I could have put it towards a better scanner. I have learned my lesson and will spend the big bucks to get a scanner that actually works.
Pros: This is a great little document scanner. It has easily handled everything I have tried on it so far. I tend to tear interesting articles out of magazines that I might want to keep or share with someone. So one of the things I wanted to do was try to use this scanner to scan these in for filing or sharing. It does an excellent job on magazine quality pages. It is pretty speedy and the input bin has worked well for me.
Cons: The only downside is the included Nuance software. It comes with a slightly older version which can be upgraded. This doesn't bother me, but I'm sure will matter to some. My issue with it is that the user interface just seems to be a bit poor. Despite this, the functionality is excellent and the OCR ability on even pretty complex page layouts works very well.
Summary: In these days, Xerox still manufacturing non-compatible hardware for Mac. Just received a gift (the person was not knowing that I am using mac system, assuming compatibility was out of context this days). After I started pulling my hair to find out how to install this scanner, retrieved the active code from third party to activate the scanner for mac system, still can't use it.
Summary: I just received this scanner yesterday but I have already scanned over 200 pictures. It is a little bit difficult to figure out, but it works great so far. I still have a lot to learn about it but the quality of pictures I scanned was good except if you have a lot of snow on bottom or sky on top it crops it out, haven't figured that out yet. I wish it came with a booklet that I could read to understand it a little more.
Summary: Worked OK for a while. ADF broke so I have to replace the scanner (with a different model). It wasn't that old, maybe 2 or 3 years old. The bundled image "enhancement" doesn't work so well, I had to disable it.
