Good Scanner w/great software but poor life length

Summary: I have owned several of the Documate Scanners (252 and 262's) and I found their One Touch Software to be the best of any interface that I have used. You can scan to multiple destinations and have multiple profiles set up so scanning is easy and fast. The sheet feeder is a little finicky but with proper cleaning it seemed to work fairly reliably.
Summary: We use Adobe Acrobat Pro version 8 to scan documents and at the same time we have it perform automatic OCR all at once. Once scanned and OCR'd with Acrobat, if we need the actual text any time in the future we can 'save as' that document as a Word file. It's a system that works well for our office. So, when we needed another scanner to work with our new Vista machine, I read the reviews and the Xerox 252 came out on top.
Summary: I agree with the other positive reviews: it works great, is fast, rarely jams, etc. And I guess I got used to these qualities, so I was really disappointed when it stopped working. Two or three times it stopped working and tech support got it working quickly, however, the most recently failure was more serious: tech support was not able to get it working and because it is just over one year old, the warranty is expired.
