Summary: The portable scanner itself is difficult to use, the scanning area is small and will not fit larger pages, the edges of the scanner are thick and bump into the middle (rib?) of the book while scanning. I have yet to actually be able to scan any page decently after multiple tries.
Summary: The good: - It's small and portable. Battery life on two cheap alkaline AAs from IKEA seems to be decent. - It is fully standards-compliant and requires no driver installation whatsoever, it simply writes files to a microSD card and then acts as a standard card reader when plugged into a computer.
Summary: I like the idea but it is not scanning properly. the green light comes on to scan and stops before i barely start. will have to return it. i did email VuPoint but have not received a response yet.;
