Summary: This is my 2nd Road Warrior, the 1st. I dropped in the sand in Baja, Mx. This one works great as did the 1st. one. My only complaint is it came without the driver and program disk! The 1st. one scanned over 1500 photos and was still ticking.
Summary: I used a Visioneer scanner many years ago and found it to be a reliable product. For my work, I take documentation created in the past and need to edit it for distribution. Many of the documents are not available electronically. This scanner scans the documents, and converts it to a MS Word doc that I can then edit. I've found that it scans the text correctly with very few changes required. If you're considering a scanner to save time typing, this is the one.
Summary: I used Visioneer PaperPort years ago at work. Loved it. Now I wanted to digitize and organize my paperwork. This is the perfect tool. It can do OCR, but I don't need that. All I need is a copy of documents and a record of purchases (scan in receipts). The software knocks the sock of other document organizers. Just a heads up...I wanted to upgrade my Windows 8 computer to 8.1, but the software is not compatible with Win8.1. An upgrade is available, however.
Summary: This is a great scanner for travel, although I have found that I love it on my desk permanently as well. It takes up so little space that I use it all of the time and replaced my desktop scanner with it. It is QUICK and responsive. There is no CHARGER or power supply; it charges with the USB once it is connected! The accompanying PaperPort software is "ok" - a little cumbersome at first. Once you get used to it, you can do almost any editing with it.
