Awful product. Do not waste your money.
6 April 2011
Summary: Awful product. Do not waste your money. Will be very brief. My windows XP system detected is not authorize system and crash it. I could not get one single card write man!!!! If you have one intelligent phone there are already solutions to scan business cards with a lot better success. Personally I will go manually. This is one bridge technology that need to improve.
Summary: Very easy to use, does a decent job. I like that its not only scanning the image but also convert the information in to data format that can be import to your Address book. not always transfer 100% accurate data...
Summary: What I liked most about the reader was the speed with which I could feed business cards in, and the fact that I could also scan the reverse side as well. On that note another great aspect was that when you scan your card in you don't have to send it through OCR. This is particuarly useful if you've jotted down a bunch of notes on the reverse of the card to help remind you of the person.
Summary: I purchased this scanner so I could scan business cards into my outlook for e-mails as well as business organization. The scanner does not read a lot of the e-mail address. It gets confussed if there are graphics. I have to type in at least 50% of the information. I would not have purchased this scanner if I knew I would have to work so hard using it.
Summary: If you like the poor working device with NO support - the Visioneer CardReader is just for you! I have tried to download and install all recommended updates but it doesn't work. The customer support is unacceptably awful!
Summary: I had to return this scanner because it did not capture text near the edges of most of the business cards, no matter what I tried (Calibrating, Re-Orienting and re-feeding the cards). Updating the scanner drivers with the website download did not help. Visioneer's online support is unacceptably awful. Also, the bundled OCR software is not up to the task.
